MARINE TURTLES

Marine turtles are very conspicuous part of marine ecosystems and play an important ecological role. Research into the composition of their diet can provide information about their distribution that can help develop more effective management strategies (link to Jessica). Similarly research on the interaction between marine turtles and trawl fisheries in Queensland waters, and the effectiveness of the use of Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDS) are important for the conservation of endangered and threatened species of marine turtles (link to Julie).
